Lowell Sidewalk Project

With grant funding provided by the Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) Safe Routes to School (SRTS) program, and in partnership with the City of Lowell, Lane County will be constructing sidewalks to improve safety for children walking to Luny Elementary, as well as Lowell Senior and Junior High School. The sidewalks to be constructed are on both sides of Main Street, between West Boundary Road and Pioneer Street, and on both sides of West Boundary Road streets, between Pioneer Street and Wetleau Street. Additionally, a pedestrian-refuge island is to be installed in the crosswalk at the west leg of the Jasper-Lowell/Pioneer intersection. Construction funding is programmed for summer 2022.

Planning and developing the construction project will begin in the spring of 2021. This will include public outreach and community engagement. For more information contact:  Becky Taylor, Senior Transportation Planner, Lane County Public Works, [email protected]
