Project Description
The sidewalks to be constructed are on both sides of Main Street (curb-tight with mechanical stormwater), between West Boundary Road and Pioneer Street, and on both sides of West Boundary Road (setback with planter strips), between Pioneer Street and Wetleau Street. Additionally, a pedestrian-refuge island is to be installed in the crosswalk at the west leg of the Jasper-Lowell/Pioneer intersection (with ADA ramps upgraded at all corners and new crosswalk pavement markings).
The total project cost is $1,203,616. This includes the value of the 2020 Lane County ADA construction project to fulfill the 20% cash match requirement of the grant. The grant funds are $931,616.
Scoping and planning the project is scheduled to begin in March 2021. Public outreach and community involvement is planned to begin in May 2021. Approval of the design concepts by the Board of County Commissioners is required which is tentatively scheduled for November 2021. Construction is planned for summer 2022.
