• Complete and submit the Sheriff's Office Public Records Request Form via mail along with fee payment by check or money order made payable to LCSO (see fee schedule). To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, until future notice we are only accepting public records requests online (see information below) or by mail.  If you do not have access to a computer or cannot fill out the on-line form, please call 541-682-3775 for assistance with your request.  We appreciate your cooperation!

Please be advised that words, phrases, sections or pages may be redacted from report copies due to confidentiality requirements, ongoing investigations, pending court actions, and CJIS requirements. I need a background check completed for work or school. What do I need to do?

Background checks are completed for contact only with the Lane County Sheriff’s Office. No other agency’s incidents or records are included. Complete backgrounds checks, or a Criminal History Record Check, are completed by the Oregon State Police.

See our fee schedule for current and applicable fees.

For information regarding obtaining this type of record, please see the  website Oregon State Police Identification Services or contact them at 503-378-3070.

I need a statistical report (e.g. How many LCSO stops involved DUIIs in 2015, and where were the stops made?). How do I request the information?

The Sheriff’s Office does not currently have the budgetary resources to have a dedicated analyst on staff. Consequently, these duties are handled as needed by Records Officers and other employees, in addition to their regular workload.

For crime stats or related information, contact our Police Records Unit at 541-682-3775, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

See our current fee schedule for applicable fees for all public records requests and/or requests for computerized reports.

How do I find information about outstanding warrants? What should I do if I know the location of someone wanted by law enforcement?

Warrant information is not considered to be public information. Therefore, phone inquiries will not be answered about wanted status. If you want to check whether you have an outstanding warrant, present yourself at our Central Reception along with identification, such as a driver’s license. If you believe someone is wanted and you know their location, contact our Dispatch Center at 541-682-4141. Although Dispatch will neither confirm nor deny wanted status, our Communications Officers will take your information and do appropriate follow-up.
